Submit your Notice of Retirement Form to Employee Benefit Services by the last business day in February and you may qualify for:
- A $500 early notification incentive

Important: If you revoke or rescind your notice of intent to retire more than three business days after submitting the notice, you permanently waive both incentives.

When You Can Retire
Employees who are vested in TCRS have these retirement options.
Service Retirement
An unreduced benefit is available at age 60 with vesting rights, or at any age after attaining 30 years of creditable service.
Early Retirement
A reduced benefit available if you are at least age 55 with 10 years of creditable service, or at any age if you have at least 25 years of creditable service.
Disability Retirement
TCRS provides two types of disability benefits for members who become disabled before meeting retirement requirements:
- Ordinary disability — Requires at least five years of service and inability to work, subject to TCRS medical panel approval and periodic re-evaluation until age 60
- Accidental disability — for on-the-job injuries that prevent you from working; no minimum service requirement, but the injury must be documented through your last paid day and you must apply within one year of your last paid date or within two years of the injury; subject to periodic evaluations until you reach age 60.
