Retiree Plan Rates
Your medical, dental, vision and hearing coverage under the Certificated Retiree Health Plan are bundled under a single premium, which is deducted from your monthly pension check. The amount you pay depends on which medical plan you're enrolled in and who you cover. You and MNPS share the cost; MNPS pays 75% of the cost, and you pay 25%.

Surviving Spouse Premiums
If you are a surviving spouse, your monthly premium is four times the rates shown in the chart on this page. MNPS does not pay 75% of the cost for surviving spouses.
Higher-Income Members: IRMAA
Some Medicare members are required to pay an Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA), an additional Medicare premium based on the income you report to the IRS. If this applies to you:
- IRMAA is deducted automatically from your Social Security payments or billed directly each month or quarter
- You must pay IRMAA to keep your coverage
- Income limits for Part D drug coverage follow the same thresholds as Medicare Part B
- MNPS will reimburse you for any Part D IRMAA costs. Submit a copy of your "Notice of Medicare Premium Due" invoice to MNPS to request reimbursement.
